Welcome to History
The History department is commited to enthusing pupils with an appreciation of the past through enriching, stimulating and enjoyable activities. At Key Stage 3 the department follows a new and innovative thematic approach to historical narratives and skills, including all the recommded topics of Simon Schama. At Key Stage 4 we follow the SHP syllabus examining a variety of exciting, relevant and… developing desired and necessary skills for employment.
There are three full-time, experienced and committed members of staff. Teaching and learning is undertaken in three dedicated rooms, using a variety of resources including mix of traditional, differentiated and current textbook, whilst embracing multi-media technology.

Results
At Key Stage 3 94% achieved a Level 5 and above. At Key Stage 4 41% achieved A*-C, with 100% achieveing A*-G. At both Key stages there is a year on year improvement.
