8DM have been crowned the 2012 winners of the Year 8 Form Points Competition.

They pipped 8LO to the post in the last week, beating them with the equivalent of just 16 Learning Credits.

To reward their success 8DM have been invited to Lightwater Valley as a reward.

Fresher’s Week 2011

Year 8 enjoyed a fantastic Fresher’s Week last week and the whole year group participated in a wide range of events.

Highlights included:

‘Around the World’ Aeroplane Challenge

Forms were tasked with building a model plane. They were also asked to plan a name, logo and route for their plane company.

The best plane from each form then competed in the form to see who could fly the furthest.

The winners were 8DM who were awarded a bonus 500 form points.

Runners up were 8AC who received 250 form points.

In third were 8LO who were awarded 100 form points for their efforts.

Fresher’s Week Sports Day

All forms took part in a Fresher’s Week Sports Day. Teams participated in Dodgeball, Ultimate Frisbee, Basketball, a range of athletic challenges, football and Zumba.

The winners of the day will be announced in assembly

Mr Kennedy is looking to recruit a team of bloggers to help keep people informed about what is going on in Y8.

Team members must have good ICT skills and be willing to learn new techniques and skills.
