St George’s is very proud of the progress made towards its vision which is ‘Outstanding through the provision of consistent academic excellence’. Our results this year equal the best the school has ever achieved in a significant number of subject areas and these are well above national averages with Maths and Languages two of the strongest areas.
Head Teacher Graham Warnock says that “the school continues to grow from strength to strength. We recruited a large number of talented teachers in the summer and have continued this trend of recruiting the best this year. A noticeable shift in the culture of St George’s is evident. All who visit are impressed at our Christian Ethos and attitudes to learning which in turn are paying dividends. The predictions for 2018 are the best in the school’s history especially in the subjects of English, Maths and Science”.
It is very pleasing to see the work of our pupils, parents and staff turning our vision into a reality. Well done to all at St George’s
Our School’s mission is to:
‘Believe, Achieve and Care’ for everyone in our community.
Our curriculum ensures that every pupil receives a strong academic education alongside a very wide range of opportunities for personal development. We want to be a truly learning centred school which strives to nurture the creative talents of everyone.
We want all our pupils to develop deep factual knowledge; to know about the physical world, their history, culture and current affairs as well as the world of art and literature. Central to everything is our Christian ethos and in the words of Lord Runcie we aim “to nourish Christians in their faith, encourage those of other faiths, and challenge others to think about their faith”.
St George’s School is a highly inclusive school community where every individual matters. We have superb pastoral support systems and take a strong stand on tackling prejudice and promoting our equality.
St George’s provides a very disciplined learning atmosphere where everyone is expected to work hard and make a contribution. The school presents a harmonious and well-ordered community. Pupils talk and engage in a relaxed and respectful way with each other. They make a strong contribution to a very supportive, warm, loving and inclusive community”.
St George’s is an exciting place to work and to learn. I am very proud and privileged to be the Headteacher. I hope that you find that our website gives you a feel for our dynamic, vibrant school.
