Image of “One is nearer God’s Heart in a garden…

“… than anywhere else on Earth”, says the poem.  This is true in more ways than one at St. George’s School, a Church of England Academy, in Marton.  Thanks to the hard work of DePuy employees and Langdale Community Volunteers, the School community now has an outside reflective space for prayer and worship.

Rev. Helen Houston, Chaplain, said “We’re really pleased to have this space and very grateful to have the support of our friends from DePuys and Langdale Community Volunteers in creating it.

It was our students who helped identify the community garden as the perfect place for our new worship area, and they were absolutely right.  It’s a pretty spot, very restful and quiet.  Definitely good for the soul!”

The space is to be used by tutor groups for form worship and for occasional services.
