Last night our Year 9 girls rounders team played in a tri-tournament against South Shore Academy and Armfield Academy, competing in the South Blackpool rounders competition.
It was great to see the girls demonstrating the skills we have been working on in lessons and at Rounders club, with some impressive batting and fielding on display. Teamwork and communication was also key, with the girls thinking tactically and using their rule knowledge to outwit our opponents.
Both games were closely fought, but St George's managed to use their slick catching and throwing skills to limit the score of both Armfield and South Shore. We were then able to capitalise on some excellent batting to take the win in both games.
Well done to the team for an awesome performance, but also for representing St George's with the highest of standards.
We look forward to our upcoming Year 7 and 8 competitions in the next few weeks.
Summer Term Rounders Club is on a Monday after school from 15.15 - 4.15.
