Last week our Yr.7 & 8 pupils enjoyed a visit from the BAE STEM Roadshow. The theme of this year's show was magnets. The full range of applications of magnets, electromagnets and motors were demonstrated in an entertaining and informative way. The highlighting of how engineers use magnets to solve a range of problems and their potential use in the reduction of fossil fuel used in transport were particularly informative and engaging. BAE partnered up with the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy for the presentation with the aim of encouraging pupils to explore STEM careers in the future, highlighting the opportunties and the need for more girls to consider engineering as a lucrative career.
