Blackpool Sixth Form's New Student Hub has information and videos to help you prepare for the course you have chosen.

 B&FC have created a range of webinars which provide an in-depth look into each curriculum area and it's related industry. These are available on the college's YouTube account here 

 

 

The Myerscough Careers Team have created a site especially to prepare students for their course, which is called My Future Applicant Site .

Pupils will get access to this once they have applied, check your em,ails from Myerscough for the details. The site includes subject specific resources and activities such as quizzes, videos, booklets and more. There’s also a ‘Work Skills’ area for those re-sitting Maths and English GCSE. 

 

Newman Beginnings is for all students who have accepted their conditional offer of a place at Cardinal Newman College for September 2021 entry.

This platform will support you in starting your journey at Newman, and give you an insight into the subjects you are looking to study. Whilst there, you can access any of the subject channels, and we hope it helps you to firm up your choices when it comes to enrolment.

Preparing for an Apprenticeship

Virtual Work Experience Opportunities

   

 Speakers for School's Experience Programme connects schools with industry leading employers, to open young people’s eyes to the possibilities ahead of them. The programme is run through a simple, safe-guarded portal, giving students access to opportunities. 

The first step is to: Register for a student account once registered you can then browse through the different opportunities on offer and apply for any that you feel would benefit you. There is a huge variety of available experiences, ranging from a couple of hours to a few days in length. Placements are in all sectors too. Take time with your application for a place, this is part of the process as the employers select who the opportunities are offered to.  Once you have submitted an application school verify and add a note to support it. You will then hear back if you have been successful in gaining a place.

 'Create Your Future'- 6 Week Programme

Create Your Future is an online summer programme designed to help you boost your skills and careers confidence. It will also help you think about steps you can take to move forwards in life in a way that’s right for you. It’s free to take part. Create Your Future is a collaboration between Youth Employment UK  and The Careers And Enterprise Company.   

Week 1: You and Your Needs

 

This week’s theme is You and Your Needs and you’ll take part in activities from Youth Employment UK’s online Young Professional programmes and explore extra resources and opportunities to build you knowledge and understanding.

 

The activities that we will cover this week include:

 

  • Considering your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Exploring where you are today, your barriers, where you could be and where to get help.
  • Understanding how to take better care of your emotional wellbeing feel more confident in decision making and goal setting.
