Image of Meet our new Prefect Team for 20-21

Mrs Hackney had the challenging job of selecting this year's senior prefects. She was spoilt for choice with a strong field but after a week of early morning interviews made her final selection. The photograph shows our Head Prefects at the top with the Deputies, Assistants and Sports Captains below.  Congratulations to the team who we are sure will serve the school well over the course of this year.

Message form our Head Girl

My name is Jasmine and I am head girl at St. George's.  I feel extremely privileged to be in a position in which I give back to the community who have helped shape me into who I am today.  St George's offers an amazing and motivational learning environment, with the mentality of "students comes first".  As I am coming to the end of my journey at St. George's, I reflect on all the opportunities I was able to experience through the help and dedication of caring staff.  If you are considering becoming a member of the SG family, I can guarantee you will be encouraged to strive for greatness and to be stretched to achieve your true potential.

Message from our Head Boy

Hi, my name is Ben Smith and I am the Head Boy at St. George’s. I have enjoyed my time at this school immensely and I feel that it has provided me with an education that is second to none. The teachers make lessons engaging and challenging and they themselves are very experienced. Sarah Lindgren described the teachers as “knowledgeable and supportive” and Joel Sargeant said that the teachers “encourage us to be our best selves”. Aside from the academic aspects of the school there are many different experiences available to students. I have been a part of a STEM challenge day at Lancaster University, I have travelled to the battlefields of World War One in Belgium and I have taken part in an Arts Award project. There are many more activities available to students. There are also opportunities to represent the school, such as open evenings and trips. There are opportunities to better yourself and to improve employability skills. In year ten, for example, you will take part in a work experience placement and take part in mock interviews.

School feels like a community. We hold similar values and beliefs and we support and look out for one another. The teachers and pastoral staff care for our wellbeing, both mentally and physically, to quote Sarah Lindgren again: “The pastoral team are very supportive”. I am extremely glad that I chose St. George’s for my secondary education, I have had a wonderful experience here and I have received an outstanding education.

Thank you for reading and I hope you chose to join our school community in the future.
