Community and Gratitude: Family Dining

Our commitment to spiritual growth and community extends far beyond the Chapel, most notably through our Family Dining experience. Family Lunch is the beating heart of St George's. It is where children are taught the vital soft skills of conversation, good table manners, and kindness.

Instead of an anonymous canteen culture, our pupils take active responsibility for one another. Sitting in their streams, pupils help each other demonstrating a deep sense of personal and collective responsibility. Teachers chat alongside the pupils, helping to guide meaningful conversations about their morning lessons or engaging topics of the day.

Cultivating a culture of thankfulness is a daily practice at St George's. Pupils share daily gratitudes during Family Lunch and write weekly gratitude cards to our teachers, actively living out our core academy values of dignity, hope, community, wisdom, humility, and kindness.
